Sharm El Sheik

In January 2005 we made our first journey to Sharm El Sheik, just chilling.

We stayed at the rather splendid Ritz Carlton hotel and had such a relaxing time we went back in the October of the same year.

The hotel had a wonderful free format pool, overlooking the rather rocky beach.

On our return visit, we upgraded to poolside rooms, expecting my Mother to be coming with us. Sadly her health had deteriorated and she wasn’t able to make the trip.

The Ritz Carlton was about mid way between Old Sharm and the resort at Naama Bay

And up the hill from the Ritz Carlton was a purpose built leisure complex Fantasia with shops and bars that were considerably cheaper (£1 per beer) than the Ritz Carlton (£5 a beer plus service, plus VAT).
