2014 – Abu Dhabi

We returned to Abu Dhabi in the summer of 2014, this time staying at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers hotel,
at the western end end of Abu Dhabi’s corniche.

Our room was on the 40th floor, looking out along the corniche.

On arrival, some sneaky person had warned them of Val’s birthday, and the hotel had prepared a surprise.

In the bathroom, even the toiletries were designed to reflect the hotel’s five towers.

The reception area was pretty impressive.

I’ve frequently commented to friends how the development and architecture in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai are reminiscent of ‘Blade Runner’.

A little judicious filtering emphasises the effect.
